Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transmission Line Engineer to manage and oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of transmission lines within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Candidates with substation project experience, prior work in the Gulf region or Saudi Arabia, and registration with an Engineering Council will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Planning:

• Develop and review designs, technical specifications, and layouts for transmission line projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Conduct route surveys and assessments for the planning and installation of transmission lines.
• Prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.

1. Project Execution:

• Oversee the construction, installation, and testing of transmission line towers, conductors, and related components.
• Ensure proper alignment, sagging, and tensioning of transmission lines during installation.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to integrate transmission line works with substation projects where applicable.

1. Site Supervision and Quality Control:

• Monitor on-site activities to ensure all work is executed according to technical specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and overall project progress.
• Address technical and operational challenges encountered during construction.

1. Substation Projects (Preferred):

• Collaborate with substation teams to ensure seamless integration of transmission lines with substations.
• Provide technical input on the interface between transmission lines and substation equipment.

1. Health and Safety Compliance:

• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and protocols during all phases of transmission line work.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to minimize safety hazards on-site.

1. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure all transmission line projects comply with local and international codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals.

1. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical drawings, progress reports, and test results.
• Prepare regular updates for clients, consultants, and project managers on project progress and challenges.

1. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Provide technical guidance and supervision to contractors, technicians, and field staff.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and other project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Experience:
• 7–14 years of hands-on experience in transmission line projects within the construction industry.
• Experience in substation projects is highly desirable.
• Previous work experience in the Gulf region or Saudi Arabia is preferred.
• Certification:
• Must be registered with an Engineering Council (e.g., Saudi Council of Engineers or Pakistan Engineering Council).
