Job Purpose:
The QHSE Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) initiatives within the company. The role is essential in ensuring that all operations comply with legal regulations and standards, and that all projects and services provided meet the highest quality, safety, and environmental benchmarks. The QHSE Manager will work closely with various departments to maintain and improve systems, processes, and safety protocols to enhance the overall performance and reputation of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system to ensure services meet or exceed client expectations.
- Monitor, review, and audit quality performance regularly, ensuring adherence to internal and external standards.
- Work with operational teams to continuously improve service delivery and client satisfaction through quality initiatives and training programs.
- Prepare quality reports, ensuring all issues are documented and corrective actions are implemented.
- Health & Safety Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols that comply with local regulations and international best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure safety measures are followed in all work environments.
- Promote and ensure a strong culture of safety within the company, including organizing training programs, awareness sessions, and safety drills.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, ensuring corrective actions and preventive measures are taken to avoid recurrence.
- Maintain and update all safety documentation, including risk assessments, safety data sheets, and accident reports.
- Environmental Management:
- Develop and manage an effective environmental management system to minimize the company's environmental footprint.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices related to waste management, energy consumption, and resource use.
- Encourage and implement environmental sustainability initiatives within the company and with clients.
- Prepare and submit environmental performance reports and ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
- Training & Awareness:
- Provide QHSE training to all employees, ensuring that staff are knowledgeable about company policies, industry standards, and health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Ensure that employees have the proper resources and support to work safely and in compliance with QHSE standards.
- Develop and oversee emergency preparedness drills, ensuring that staff are trained to respond effectively to potential hazards.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with local and international QHSE regulations, including ISO standards, and keep the company updated on any changes in regulations.
- Prepare for and facilitate audits, inspections, and assessments by regulatory bodies or external auditors.
- Maintain accurate records of all QHSE-related activities, audits, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Work with management to identify opportunities for QHSE improvement and support continuous development of policies, procedures, and practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in QHSE performance throughout the organization.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least [10] years of experience in QHSE management within the facility management, construction, or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of QHSE regulations, standards (such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), and industry best practices.
- Experience with risk management, incident investigation, and safety auditing.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct training, prepare reports, and present findings to management.
- Proficiency with QHSE management software and tools.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in QHSE (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OHSAS).
- Experience working with sustainability and green building standards.
- Knowledge of facility management operations, systems, and processes.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position.
- Occasional site visits required to perform inspections and audits.
- Office-based with occasional field-based work.
- Flexibility to travel for training, audits, and inspections.
