Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance & Operations:
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure long-term asset reliability.
- Reactive Maintenance: Quickly and efficiently address and resolve any emergency breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to club operations.
- Golf Course Infrastructure: Oversee the maintenance and repair of golf course infrastructure which may include coordinating any works on irrigation systems, drainage, and pump systems.
- Building Systems: Ensure the proper functioning of lighting, elevators, security, and fire alarm systems across all club facilities, including the clubhouse, restaurants, and Leisure / Spa areas.
- Landscaping & Grounds: Collaborate with the landscaping team to maintain outdoor facilities such as pools, parking lots, pathways, and gardens.
- Team Leadership
- Department Leadership: Supervise and mentor the engineering team, which includes technicians and contractors, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards.
- Training & Development: Implement training programs for engineering staff, ensuring they remain up-to-date with the latest technology, safety standards, and best practices.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and develop succession plans to ensure the engineering department operates efficiently.
- Project Management
- Capital Improvement Projects: Lead and oversee capital improvement projects, including renovations, expansions, and upgrades to facilities, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Vendor Management: Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers for maintenance and project needs.
- Energy Management: Implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve the club’s environmental footprint.
- Safety & Compliance
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all facilities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Health & Safety: Implement and maintain stringent safety protocols to ensure the well-being of members, guests, and staff. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, and ensure the team follows proper procedures for operating equipment and handling hazardous materials.
- Fire & Life Safety Systems: Oversee the regular testing and maintenance of fire alarms, sprinklers, and emergency systems, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks within the facilities and implement preventive measures to mitigate any issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil preferred) or a related technical field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications in engineering (e.g., PMP, LEED, or relevant trade certifications) are desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering or facilities management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within a luxury hotel, resort, or golf club.
