Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Inspector for Electrical systems in Facilities Management is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations, maintenance, and repair work meet quality standards and compliance requirements. The QA/QC Inspector will conduct inspections, monitor the performance of electrical systems, and verify that all electrical tasks are completed in line with both safety regulations and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection and Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, installations, and components across the facility to ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications.
- Perform checks on electrical wiring, circuits, panels, and other electrical equipment to ensure proper installation and functionality.
- Inspect the quality of electrical materials and components used in projects.
- Ensure that all electrical work is completed according to design specifications and industry standards.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control procedures.
- Prepare inspection reports and quality control documentation, highlighting any issues or defects and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Report any non-compliance or deviation from quality standards to the management team.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Monitor electrical systems for any potential hazards, and ensure that all work is performed safely to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Ensure that any corrective or preventive measures are implemented promptly to address quality or safety issues.
- Testing and Auditing:
- Conduct electrical tests such as continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and functionality testing to ensure systems are operating as expected.
- Perform audits of electrical systems and installations during regular maintenance or during new projects.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with electrical engineers, contractors, and maintenance teams to ensure high standards of electrical work are met.
- Provide training and guidance to electrical technicians on quality control procedures and safety practices.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in quality control procedures and work with the team to enhance processes, systems, and standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, electrical standards, and safety protocols to continuously improve quality practices.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- A high equivalent is required. A degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems and knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) would be an advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and their maintenance.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools, testing equipment, and software.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with contractors, engineers, and staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in potentially hazardous environments and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
