Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Inspector for Electrical systems in Facilities Management is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations, maintenance, and repair work meet quality standards and compliance requirements. The QA/QC Inspector will conduct inspections, monitor the performance of electrical systems, and verify that all electrical tasks are completed in line with both safety regulations and company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspection and Quality Control:
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, installations, and components across the facility to ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications.
  • Perform checks on electrical wiring, circuits, panels, and other electrical equipment to ensure proper installation and functionality.
  • Inspect the quality of electrical materials and components used in projects.
  • Ensure that all electrical work is completed according to design specifications and industry standards.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control procedures.
  • Prepare inspection reports and quality control documentation, highlighting any issues or defects and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Report any non-compliance or deviation from quality standards to the management team.
  1. Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure that all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Monitor electrical systems for any potential hazards, and ensure that all work is performed safely to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Ensure that any corrective or preventive measures are implemented promptly to address quality or safety issues.
  1. Testing and Auditing:
  • Conduct electrical tests such as continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and functionality testing to ensure systems are operating as expected.
  • Perform audits of electrical systems and installations during regular maintenance or during new projects.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with electrical engineers, contractors, and maintenance teams to ensure high standards of electrical work are met.
  • Provide training and guidance to electrical technicians on quality control procedures and safety practices.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify areas for improvement in quality control procedures and work with the team to enhance processes, systems, and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, electrical standards, and safety protocols to continuously improve quality practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • A high equivalent is required. A degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems and knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) would be an advantage.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and their maintenance.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools, testing equipment, and software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with contractors, engineers, and staff.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in potentially hazardous environments and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment/tools up to [X] lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
