Head of Logistics is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring logistics operations and supply chain processes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in planning and managing logistics, warehouse and transportation of shipments.
- Negotiates and coordinates with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
- Follows up of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
- Organizes warehouse, catalog goods, plans routes and process shipments and resolves any arising problems or complaints.
- Meets cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
Maintains metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
Assists in Developing procedures or systems to evaluate and select suppliers.
Keeps a friendly and professional relationship with vendors while promoting company initiatives and values
Researches and seeks out the most cost-efficient shipment procedures and methods
Performs other duties as assigned by the line Manager
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures subordinates comply with organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards in the department, cascading the objectives and KPIs to all members of the team.
- Oversees the selection of workforce in the department, in line with the business and operational plans.
- Takes necessary actions that boost subordinate engagement and enhance capability development by providing ongoing feedback and by coaching team members within the department.
- Ensures all department staff adhere to GASCO safety and security regulations and take precautionary measures within the relevant scope of work.
- Optimizes department’s performance and cost effectiveness through designing and monitoring of challenging KPI’s.
- Reviews department’s performance against budget targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiate remedial action to correct
adverse variances and enhance performance.
- Manages all government and regulatory matters in accordance with company policies.
- Demonstrate effective compliance with all legal requirements.
- Ensures department employees are following all safety & security regulations
- In conjunction with all parties, ensures all GASCO policies are adhered to and maintained effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent.
