Software Sales Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Prospecting & Lead Generation:
  • Identify and qualify potential customers through cold calling, networking, email campaigns, and attending industry events or trade shows.
  • Develop and execute a targeted outreach strategy to create opportunities for software sales.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, consistently meeting or exceeding lead generation targets.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, including CTOs, CIOs, IT directors, and business executives.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to highlight the value and benefits of the software solutions.
  • Understand customer pain points and offer customized solutions that meet their needs.
  • Sales Process & Closing:
  • Lead the sales process from initial contact through contract negotiation and closing.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, quotes, and pricing models in alignment with client needs and budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., product, technical support, and customer success) to ensure a smooth sales handoff and ongoing client satisfaction.
  • Market & Product Knowledge:
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and product features to position our software solutions effectively in the marketplace.
  • Continuously learn about new software features and updates to effectively communicate value propositions to prospects.
  • Sales Reporting & Analytics:
  • Track and report on sales performance, activities, and pipeline status using CRM tools.
  • Provide regular updates to sales management on progress, challenges, and market feedback.
  • Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and optimize sales strategies.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork:
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align messaging, content, and campaigns with sales efforts.
  • Collaborate with the customer success and technical teams to ensure successful onboarding and customer satisfaction post-sale.


Skills

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in software sales or technology sales, preferably within [industry or sector].
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of software products and the ability to translate technical features into business value.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence decision-makers.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to conduct engaging product demos.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Attributes:
  • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented with a passion for technology and innovation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle objections.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) sales or cloud-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with sales enablement tools and marketing automation platforms.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, cybersecurity, etc.).
