Role Overview
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and stakeholders. This role involves collaborating with various departments, contractors, and external partners to promote safety best practices and compliance with industry standards. The Safety Manager will play a critical role in risk assessment, incident investigation, and training programs, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety. The Safety Manager will report to the Head of Corporate Safety and Compliance.

ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES
Safety Management
- Analyze workplace hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Implement safety policies, procedures, and training tailored to different teams and environments.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
- Act as the primary contact for safety concerns, addressing issues promptly.
- Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders regarding safety updates and procedures.

Incident Investigation and Reporting

Training and Competency Development
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance safety knowledge and skills across the organization.
- Create specialized safety training modules for contractors and high-risk areas.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
Leadership
- Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety and compliance.

Experience & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety management, risk assessment, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing safety programs.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple safety priorities and respond effectively to emergencies.
- High level of emotional intelligence and diplomacy in handling sensitive safety matters.
Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly desirable.
