Roles and Responsibilities

The Director of Governance project holds the pivotal role of leading the Governance and Operating model project mandate within SAFF, ensuring adherence to the Federation's strategic pillars. In addition to this, managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders related to the project to drive the widespread adoption of the project principles across SAFF.

Furthermore, actively cultivates a robust culture throughout SAFF by fostering seamless collaboration and coordination with other departments. His/her responsibilities also extend to providing continuous assurance to Top Management regarding the delivery of the project.

Lead the directions of the governance project and ensure they are aligned with the Federation's overall strategic objectives, mission, vision, and plans.

Manage the project budget and expenses.

Oversee the Project objectives, initiatives, and operational plans, and ensure they are achieved and completed effectively and efficiently.

Supervise the formulation and execution of the Federation's Corporate Governance Framework in alignment with the project. Ensuring its robustness and alignment with Federation objectives.

Engage in Executive Management and Board of Directors’ Committees’ meetings in matters related to Governance when needed.

Represent Governance Project in different Management Committees meetings and Federation-wide workgroups.

Build and maintain the relationships with internal and external stakeholders, related government agencies and related local and international professional bodies and associations.

Oversee the effort to embed Governance culture within the Federation, and promote the value of Governance.

Supervise the Governance project working team and ensure the work is being completed as per the approved scope of work and timeline.

Align with the technology and innovation department in the methods and processes related to the project deliverables and make recommendations on systems and processes enhancement that will raise operational efficiency.

Oversee the development of deliverables, ensuring reviewing them before submitting to the Authorized committee for approval.

Oversee the development, review and update of the Functions’ policies and procedures to ensure they are in line with leading practices and aligned Federation’s structures and objectives.

Manage periodic reports on the performance of Governance project, and provide constructive feedback and input.

Lead the planning and implementation of the communication and trainings plan for the governance project, ensuring they fulfill the objectives efficiently and effectively.

Ensure the presence of a comprehensive project risk register, alongside controls and mitigation plans.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or the equivalent in a related field from a reputable university.
• Master’s degree in business administration or the equivalent in a related field is preferred.
• Recognized professional certificate in Governance, Risk, and Compliance or a related field is a plus, such as:

-Diploma in Corporate Governance.

-Risk Management Professional (CRMP).

-ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management.

-Lead Compliance Management Implementer (ISO37301:2021).

-GRC Professional (GRCP™).

Minimum Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of total experience.
• A minimum of 3 years in a management position in Corporate Governance, Project Management, Risk, Compliance or any other control/support functions
• Fluent in Arabic, and in English.
