Planning Manager Roads & infrastructure

The Planning Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring efficient project management and successful execution of Roads and infrastructure projects. They are responsible for developing comprehensive project plans, coordinating resources, and overseeing the scheduling and progress of construction activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budgeting, to ensure timely completion of construction projects.
  2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and develop a clear understanding of project objectives.
  3. Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, identify potential issues, and develop action plans to mitigate risks and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  4. Monitor and analyze project schedules and budgets, identifying deviations and implementing corrective measures as necessary to maintain project timelines and financial targets.
  5. Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment required for construction activities, optimizing resource utilization and minimizing project delays.
  6. Utilize project management software and tools to track project progress, update schedules, and generate reports for management and stakeholders.
  7. Provide leadership and guidance to the planning team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from recognized university.
  • Proven experience in construction planning and project management, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and BI presentation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and motivating teams to achieve project goals.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
