Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Collection Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing overdue accounts, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Communication: Contact customers via phone or email to collect overdue debts.
- Follow-Up: Track overdue accounts and ensure that outstanding payments are collected.
- Account Review: Review customer financial accounts to determine amounts due and provide accurate reports.
- Negotiation: Negotiate with customers to establish mutually agreed-upon payment plans.
- Flexible Solutions: Offer flexible solutions for debt collection based on customers’ circumstances.
- Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on collection status and account performance.
- Detailed Reporting: Provide detailed reports to management regarding the progress of collections and any customer issues.
- Documentation: Document all communications and actions taken with customers to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Record Keeping: Organize and maintain collection-related documents and records systematically.
- Compliance: Adhere to all legal policies and procedures related to the collection process.
- Confidentiality: Ensure customer privacy and confidentiality of information is maintained at all times.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in debt collection, preferably in specialized companies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with various types of customers.
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Good knowledge of accounting software and computer applications.
