Health Safety Environment Officer

UCC Holding - Saudi - Riyadh
  1. Monitor and assess situations: If a situation develops in the workplace, the officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing the safety of the employees. For example, if an employee falls during their shift, the health and safety officer can monitor their injuries and assess the reasons they fell.
  2. Develop measures for the safety of personnel: Health and safety officers may be responsible for developing workplace-specific measures for the safety of personnel. For example, officers working at a construction site may suggest safety measures, such as wearing protective headgear.
  3. Correct any unsafe acts or conditions: If an officer notices any unsafe actions or working conditions, they're responsible for making the necessary corrections. For example, if an employee forgets to wear gloves while packaging food, the officer may graciously remind them to put on gloves.
  4. Use authority to stop hazardous situations: When necessary, a health and safety officer may have to exercise authority for the safety of personnel. For example, if the officer notices a machine is operating incorrectly, they can take the initiative to pause operations until the machine is fixed.
  5. Stay aware of developing situations: When a potential concern becomes evident to the officer, it's important that they remain aware of the situation throughout its entirety.
  6. Create a plan of action: Another responsibility for a health and safety officer is to create a plan of action. This plan may include several details about what to do when various situations occur within the workplace.
