· You will execute customs and trade compliance plans and processes to optimize service and cost performance in the customs clearance activities. · You will contribute to planning and directing flow of air and surface traffic to/ from foreign destinations to ensure customs clearance is completed in a timely and efficient manner. · You will monitor shipped items, shipping validity dates and debits and duties/ tariffs at government institutions. · You will have to execute customs entries, categorize goods based on information provided by customers and undertake customs security filing. · You will have to close out post clearance modification, execute inbound and outbound documentation, archive customs documents and record customs shipment information and physical status. · You will calculate duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight and volume of merchandise exported/ imported to/ from foreign destinations. · You will impart guidance on pricing and margin, support on bids, RFQs and customer presentations. · You will resolve customer issues and appropriately resolve incidents such as escalations/ disputes raised by internal or external customers · You will stay updated with latest regulation changes and achieve adherence to compliance standards, legal requirements, and import/ export control legislation. · You will pursue activities for issuing and controlling import licenses, and processes and controls of the export area. · You will have to collaborate with counterparts in customs authorities and government bodies for running smooth operations and to meet regulatory compliance. · You will participate to develop and implement workflow models between central customs operations and transactional operations teams. · You will have to study and resolve issues in day-to-day delivery and implement practices and quality standards for customs focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency and controlling costs. · You will have to do research, identify, and obtain the permits, licenses, and certificates required for customs clearance and general customs formalities. · You will have to advice customers on legal (e.g., trade compliance - shipments to sanctioned countries) and customs topics |
