Description Aircraft Corrosion Control Technician Salary: Competitive Location: Dhahran, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The Aircraft Corrosion Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing the surface finish an RSAF aircraft, its components and support equipment. Using all resources available they will maintain aircraft to support the demands of the flying operation, thus ensuring delivery of serviceable aircraft to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments. They will be responsible to the Corrosion Control Supervisor as directed by the Corrosion Control Superintendent; including but not limited to the complying with all relevant company policies. They are to ensure work they carry out in the Approved Maintenance Organisation is compliant with the requirements of the M&CA Mandates and Pt145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition with regards to maintaining aircraft, its components and resource SQEP levels. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIESThe job holder may be required to make decisions on the following: Identification of paint type and removal through use of appropriate chemical and mechanical techniques. Mixing/blending of special cleaning and protective materials and application of primer and surface coats to aircraft surfaces, using various application techniques. Scheduling of personal time to maintain the operational requirement Full aircraft surface finish preparation and restoration to a suitable standard Inspection and restoration of aircraft and its components surface finish Maintaining competency within the mandated limits Planning / Organising: The Job Holder will undertake the following activities as a minimum: The position holder will be responsible for ensuring that BAE Systems maintenance support is delivered effectively to meet RSAF requirements and mitigate any activities likely to prejudice maintenance or safety, whilst remaining within the constraints the RSAF may apply to their Fleets They will be responsible for providing support to the Approved Maintenance Organsation (AMO) to ensure delivery of serviceable aircraft in order to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments. They shall be responsible for themselves and their peers, including training technicians and maintaining a strong safety culture whilst fault finding, repairing and delivering serviceable assets to maintain the customers daily flying programme. In addition, the Corrosion Control Technician is to provide accurate and up to date information to their Line Managers to ensure the ETIC schedule is achieved, ensuring solutions to any arising issues are identified and rectified during corrosion control maintenance activities. The management of tooling and spray equipment repairable components into the supply repair channel, and ensuring their team maintain efficient and effective supply discipline. Ensure the procedural compliance governing SHE requirements, Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles, Support Equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system. Carry out shop duties as directed and deputise as corrosion control supervisor during periods of leave or absence. Subordinates: In order to support Vision 2030 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to meet BAE Systems Saudisation targets, all personnel shall utilise their knowledge and skills and act as a leader and mentor in the training and education of trainees in a multicultural environment. Report Preparation: Any reports as directed including training reports carried out in accordance with the policy. Statistics: Maintenance as directed. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATIONEssential Must be fluent in English Language Must have a recognised technical qualification, relevant to corrosion control maintenance or related discipline which is acceptable to BAE Systems. Desirable Should be familiar with RSAF Publications. Should be a member of the Saudi Council of Engineers. Should have some experience of a Part 145 organisation. Should be able to work on their own initiative to resolve technical issues. Recruitment Essential: A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, OR Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA. Have extensive proven post qualification relevant experience supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP)Demonstrate knowledge / understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering. Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role. Desirable: Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge. An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
