Field service technician

You as a Field Service Technician will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Installation, testing and commissioning of Hitachi Energy Transformers and associated equipment, including OLTC and transformer assembly work. Transformer repair and troubleshooting, tap changer maintenance and overhauling and testing and commissioning including mechanical test and pressure test of the power transformer. Having idea about transformer insulating oil and oil treatment.
Your responsibilities
Manly working as Field Service Technician for installation testing and commissioning activities at customer site or Hitachi Energy projects related to the transformers, OLTC and transformer related equipment, including third party transformers if applicable and authorized by Hitachi Energy management.
Active participation in site activities and visiting the customer site for Installation testing and commissioning of Hitachi Energy transformers and related activities. Working on other equipment related to the transformer as and when required or assigned by the line manager and participating in the PGTR project and work with project team as and when assigned.
Coordinating or interface with tools management department and take care of tools, arrange, and properly use Transformer test equipment and tools to execute site activities for installation, testing and commissioning.
Transformer compartment assembly work, minor fabrications if required, trouble shooting and rectification of transformer defects, workable at customer site and advise the action plan if the repair work need to be carried out in HITACHI factory or workshop. Supports the work activities of PGTR Service at site, or at customer workplace.
Learning and performing the test equipment operation used for Transformers, OLTC and other testing and maintenance work at site, customer premises or workplace. Learn how to use tools used for PGTR products service jobs.
Working with Project Management team on various project as and when required with full compliance of PM requirement and maintain discipline advise by the PM or customer site regulations.
Coordinating with customer and back-office support for any resources requirements to complete the job and get the PAC or time sheets signed by the customer after completion of assigned task that can be used to invoice the customer.
Preparing and providing site reports, share it with the PM, line manager or supervisor, that can be shared with the customer and submit weekly and monthly time sheet, expanse report as per company guideline in timely manner, prepare travel authorization prior to start the travelling for site or deployment.
Following the Hitachi Energy company rules and regulations, display good behavior at office and at site, any safety or integrity incident should be reported to line manager, supervisor, or project Manager.

Your background
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in transformer installation, repair and maintenance, Transformer maintenance work.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
