Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the technical review of structural and civil engineering submissions for building and heavy civil works.
  • Review structural shop drawings, steel fabrication details, connection details, rebar bending schedules, and construction drawings.
  • Verify structural calculations for reinforced concrete, structural steel, post-tensioned systems, foundations, and temporary works.
  • Review civil infrastructure designs, including road profiles, grading, pavement systems, stormwater drainage, utilities, and earthworks.
  • Review mass-haul diagrams, cut-and-fill calculations, excavation plans, and ground-improvement proposals.
  • Review lake construction details, waterproofing membranes, geotechnical liners, drainage layers, and related civil works.
  • Evaluate deep foundation designs, piling systems, retaining structures, shoring, and deep-excavation support.
  • Review contractor design alternatives, value-engineering proposals, and structural repair or strengthening methodologies.
  • Provide technical responses and engineering resolutions to RFIs, design clashes, discrepancies, and site-related technical issues.
  • Review complex material submittals, including high-performance concrete, reinforcement, structural steel, post-tensioning systems, and geotechnical liners.
  • Review method statements, Inspection and Test Plans, construction procedures, and temporary works calculations.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces between structural, civil, geotechnical, architectural, landscape, and MEP disciplines.
  • Liaise with the Contractor’s Technical Office, Designer of Record, specialist vendors, and project supervision team.
  • Ensure submissions comply with project specifications, approved designs, Saudi Building Code, and relevant international standards.
  • Maintain technical-submittal, RFI, design-change, and approval registers with the Document Controller.
  • Provide technical support to the site supervision team and report critical design risks to the Project Manager.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 20 years of technical office, structural design, design-review, and construction engineering experience.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers registration as a Professional or Consultant Engineer is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in building structures, heavy civil infrastructure, deep foundations, and complex temporary works.
  • Advanced ability to review structural calculations, geotechnical reports, civil infrastructure designs, and hydraulic drainage designs.
  • Strong experience reviewing reinforced-concrete, structural-steel, post-tensioned, shoring, and excavation-support systems.
  • Experience with roads, pavement design, stormwater drainage, earthworks, and utility coordination.
  • Knowledge of lake lining, waterproofing membranes, geotechnical liners, or similar water-retaining systems is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code, ACI, AISC, BS/EN, and applicable international standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and Revit Structure.
  • Proven experience reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and value-engineering proposals.
  • Previous experience with an engineering consultancy, design consultant, or construction supervision consultant is required.
  • Strong technical judgement, analytical capability, coordination skills, and report-writing ability.
  • A master’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory; Arabic is preferred.
