Job Title: Maintenance Director Department

Job Summary:The Maintenance Director is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance activities across the plastic manufacturing facility to ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. The role oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, manages maintenance budgets, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and maximize production output.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Management:Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies for all production equipment and utility systems. Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability. Ensure uninterrupted operation of extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, recycling, and auxiliary equipment. Monitor equipment performance and implement actions to reduce downtime and maintenance costs. Analyze maintenance KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance managers, engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contractors. Establish performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Equipment Reliability & Asset Management:Implement Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies. Oversee equipment lifecycle management and capital replacement planning. Ensure proper spare parts inventory management and critical equipment availability. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major equipment failures.
Budget & Cost Control:Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets. Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities. Support CAPEX planning and execution for maintenance-related projects. Negotiate service agreements and contracts with suppliers and contractors.
Health, Safety & Compliance:Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Maintain safe maintenance practices and adherence to HSE requirements. Support audits and inspections related to maintenance systems and equipment.
Projects & Continuous Improvement:Lead equipment installations, upgrades, and expansion projects. Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve productivity. Implement automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives where applicable. Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programs.
Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. At least 5 years in a leadership role managing maintenance teams. Strong experience within Plastic Manufacturing Industry (Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Extrusion, Thermoforming, Plastic Recycling, Packaging Manufacturing, etc.).
