Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Level 2 Network Automation Engineer to support the implementation, integration, and ongoing operation of network automation solutions within Cisco-based data center and enterprise network environments. This role requires solid technical proficiency in automation technologies, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and effective collaboration across cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high availability, performance, and operational efficiency across automated network infrastructures. Key Responsibilities Network Automation & Orchestration Implement, configure, and support network automation and orchestration platforms, primarily Cisco solutions such as:Cisco NSOThousand Eyes Cisco MANOCisco EPNMCisco CNCCisco SPISApp Dynamics Splunk (development and integration) Develop and enhance automation workflows, scripts, and APIs to streamline network operations and reduce manual tasks. Support integration initiatives to ensure seamless interoperability between automation platforms and existing infrastructure. Operational Support & Troubleshooting Provide Level 2 technical support for automation platforms and associated network infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, escalating to vendors when required. Perform routine maintenance, system validation, upgrades, and patching. Monitor network performance and availability using automation and observability tools. Analyze operational data and proactively identify potential risks or performance bottlenecks. Observability & Log Management Support log management, observability, and operational analytics in large-scale environments. Integrate Splunk with network devices, automation platforms, and monitoring tools. Work with:Splunk Enterprise Splunk Forwarders Index management and search optimization Develop dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms to improve operational visibility. Documentation & Process Compliance Maintain accurate documentation of automation workflows, configurations, integrations, and operational procedures. Ensure compliance with change management and operational processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in automation and monitoring practices. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 3+ years of experience in network engineering, operations, or automation roles. Experience working in data center or NOC environments. General hands-on exposure to one or more Cisco automation solutions (NSO, Thousand Eyes, MANO, EPNM, CNC, SPIS, App Dynamics). Technical Skills Networking Knowledge Strong understanding of networking fundamentals:Routing & Switching MPLSSDNNFVAutomation & Development Experience with scripting and automation tools:Python Ansible RESTful APIsYAML / XMLUnderstanding of API-driven network automation models. Systems & Platforms Experience with Linux-based systems.
