Job Summary The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s logistics operations, including transportation, distribution, warehousing, and inventory management. The role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Logistics Manager plays a key role in optimizing supply chain performance and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities Logistics & transportation Management Plan, coordinate, and monitor logistics operations including transportation, fleet management, and distribution activities. Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet customer and business requirements. Optimize transportation routes and logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Monitor logistics performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Warehouse & Inventory Management Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and dispatch. Ensure inventory accuracy through regular audits and system controls. Implement best practices in warehouse layout, safety, and operational efficiency. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Manage relationships with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, and suppliers. Negotiate contracts, rates, and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors. Collaborate with internal departments such as procurement, sales, finance, and customer service. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with local regulations, customs requirements, and company policies. Maintain health, safety, and security standards across logistics operations. Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent operational disruptions. Team Leadership Lead, train, and develop the logistics team to achieve operational excellence. Set performance objectives and monitor team productivity. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 5–8 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes. Experience with logistics systems (ERP, WMS, TMS). Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software tools.
