Our client, a global leader in AI innovation, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic General Counsel to lead and manage all legal operations across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East & Africa region. This is a pivotal leadership position for an accomplished legal professional with strong corporate, commercial, and technology-sector experience.
Key Responsibilities As the General Counsel, you will:Lead and build the legal function for Sense Time across KSA & MEA. Oversee all corporate legal matters, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and technology-focused contracts. Manage legal documentation relating to licensing, employment, compliance, and company secretarial matters. Provide legal strategy and guidance on IP protection, enforcement, and monetization. Advise on cross-border transactions, negotiations, and post-completion matters. Support corporate structuring and the establishment of new entities in multiple jurisdictions. Oversee external counsel and ensure high-quality, cost-effective legal support. Align MEA legal operations with global Sense Time legal policies and frameworks.
Experience & Qualifications· 10–12 years of post-qualification experience, gained within a top-tier international law firm and/or in-house at a leading technology-driven organization.· Strong expertise across corporate, commercial, regulatory, and technology law, with the ability to advise at a strategic and operational level.· Proven commercial judgment, organizational strength, and leadership capability, with experience influencing senior stakeholders.· Hands-on legal leader who is comfortable operating at both a strategic and executional level· Fluent in Arabic and English; Mandarin is a significant plus.· Experience in capital markets, intellectual property, and/or cross-border transactions is highly advantageous.· UK or US Bar qualification is strongly preferred.· Exposure to MATANA, global technology market leaders, sovereign wealth funds, investment banks, well-known private equity funds, or elite international law firms is highly desirable
