Job Description
This is a full-time onsite position.
We are looking for Variability Management Engineers to support the full lifecycle management of vehicle product variants. The role focuses on defining, configuring, validating, and governing product variability across PLM, SAP, MES, and downstream systems, ensuring that all salable vehicle variants are technically correct, manufacturable, and compliant with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire life cycle of product variants from conception to discontinuation from option and feature prospective.
- To analyze the technical product description/ feature list in and prepare feature code in Teamcenter.
- Color Material & Finishes spec book transfer to IT system.
- Drive technical variability, color variability transformation from PLM to SAP to MES to OTA system.
- Create technical relationships between feature code and component in Teamcenter
- Establish the relation of variability on PLM BOM and Analyze the influence of feature changes and take corrective action with correct process
- Create inclusion and exclusion rules based on PDL in Teamcenter configuration.
- Create the color code and maintain the color variant of vehicle
- Create variant rules based on (PDL) product definition list in the system
- Creation of the Model/Trim codes & ensure correct salable variant of vehicle in PLM and downstream applications.
- Check the quality of technica specifications in PLM system Product configuration.
- SAP BOM validation with system governance tools like SAP MDG or any other equivalent architecture governance tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product specifications and requirements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive variant documentation, ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Provide training and support to module teams on new variant/ PDL features.
- Participate in variant signoff process.
- Understand any Architectural governance tool like IDMC system & contribute to translate variability from other infrastructure systems to the Architectural governance tool.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with product variants, ensuring compliance with industry regulations
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or automotive Engineering
- Experience: Typically requires 5+ years in automotive product development, with a focus on variability management, option management, color management
- Strong background of working with CMF (Color, Materials, and Finishes), Product Development letter.
- Hands on working with Teamcenter, SAP and MES
