Job Title: Accountant Department: Finance & Accounts. Role Purpose: The Accountant is responsible to assist in various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, booking all financial transactions, compliance with regulations, and effective management of financial operations related to construction projects. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supports internal and external audits. The Accountant plays a key role in ensuring timely completion of assigned accounting activities. Key Activities: • Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Manage accounts payable records, including tracking payments and resolving discrepancies. • Prepare and maintain accounts payable reports and schedules. • Book all petty cash transactions.• Assist in the invoicing process for clients, ensuring timely and accurate billing. • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts. • Reconcile accounts receivable accounts and assist in month-end reporting.• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, assisting auditors as needed.• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions. • Support the month-end closing process by ensuring all entries are recorded timely and accurately. • Maintain fixed asset records, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation. • Prepare and maintain bank transactions and reconciliation. • Assist in preparing tax filings, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.• Coordinate with departments to ensure proper accounting of transactions. • Support system improvements and automation in accounting processes. Necessary Knowledge and Experience:• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in AP & AR operation. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, and reconciliations. • Experience with ERP systems (D365, Oracle, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of financial controls and audit procedures. Education and Certification Minimum Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
