▪ Overview:A detailed-oriented and knowledgeable Building Materials Specification Engineer. This role is crucial in ensuring that our building materials are presented to the market engineering firms and specified in the upcoming projects.
▪ Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate and select appropriate building materials based on project requirements, industry standards, and best practices.- Prepare and review technical specifications for building materials, ensuring they meet regulatory and quality standards.- Work closely with architects, designers, and contractors to understand project needs and provide guidance on material options.- Provide technical support and expertise to project teams, addressing any material-related questions or issues that arise during construction.- Stay updated on advancements in building materials, construction technology, and industry regulations to ensure specifications remain current.
▪ Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Materials Science, or a related field.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in specifying building materials within the construction industry.- Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and testing/assessment methods applicable to building materials.
▪ Desired Skills:- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.- Keen attention to detail and accuracy in preparation of specifications and documentation.- Familiarity with design software, building information modeling (BIM), and materials specification software.
