Job description:Nihon Kohden Arabia is seeking a detail oriented and proactive Accountant to support our growing finance operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role plays a critical part in ensuring full compliance with local tax regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting both statutory and internal reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with KSA tax regulations and internal company policies. Assist in the preparation of tax returns for review and submission to KSA tax authorities, including responding to related queries. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Complete month end and year end closing activities in accordance with firm policies and local regulatory requirements. Maintain compliance with KSA corporate taxes, including Zakat, VAT, withholding tax, GOSI payroll taxes, and social insurance regulations. Monitor and manage all required regulatory filings, escalating issues where necessary. Coordinate regulatory, tax, and accounting requirements related to the Regional Headquarters (RHQ) entity, reporting to the finance manager and liaising with the KSA Ministry of Investment as required. Manage corporate bank accounts, ensuring adherence to domestic payment systems and internal approval protocols. Prepare bank and vendor reconciliations, intercompany transaction entries, and petty cash accounting. Act as a key point of contact for auditors, VAT consultants, and tax authorities, escalating queries appropriately. Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness of financial records to support audits and internal controls. Support the wider MENA finance operations team and contribute to ad hoc projects, financial analyses, and data requests as assigned.
Key Requirements Knowledge & Experience Strong knowledge of KSA finance and tax regulations and familiarity with IFRS. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification. Minimum 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within KSA.
Skills & Competencies Business-fluent English (written and spoken). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. Ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and meet tight deadlines. Proactive, flexible, and professional approach, with the ability to perform well under pressure. Friendly and helpful mindset with strong internal customer-service orientation. Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
