Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Reports To: Sales Manager / Department Manager Position Overview The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving business growth by selling industrial automation solutions to manufacturers. This individual will serve as the primary technical contact for clients, identifying their operational challenges, proposing customized automation solutions, and ensuring successful implementation and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will combine a strong engineering background with excellent communication and business development skills. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Strategy: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the industrial automation and manufacturing sectors. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals. Client Needs Analysis: Engage with clients to understand their business processes, technical and operational challenges, and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements. Conduct client site visits and needs assessments. Solution Development & Presentation: Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept trials to explain how products and services work. Technical Proposal & Cost Estimation: Collaborate with the internal engineering and proposals teams to draft detailed technical proposals, cost estimations, and quotations. Negotiate offers, payment terms, and delivery schedules to secure orders. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a communication bridge between customers and internal teams (engineering, product development, marketing) to ensure solutions meet system requirements and to provide feedback on market demands. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and new clients, acting as a trusted technical advisor. Provide both pre- and post-sales support, ensuring a seamless customer experience. Market Intelligence: Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in automation technology, competitive landscapes, and industry trends (e.g., PLC, SCADA, robotics, AI, vision systems). Required Skills & Qualifications Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or related technical field) is required.
Experience:Proven experience (2-5 years) in technical sales or sales engineering, preferably within the industrial automation or manufacturing sector. Strong technical knowledge of automation products and solutions, such as PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, HMIs, Industrial Robotics, sensors, MES, ERP, ..etc. Demonstrated ability to manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to project success. Skills:Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities. Proficiency in using CRM software and other digital sales technologies. Ability to travel frequently (e.g., 60-80%) to customer sites. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and customer-focused with a high level of initiative.
