Job Specific Accountabilities:
Operational & Financial Audit Planning
- Plan, organize, and direct comprehensive audits covering operational processes, financial statements, and internal controls.
- Develop and maintain a robust audit plan based on risk assessments and organizational priorities, Lead audit teams in the field, ensuring adherence to professional audit standards and timely execution of audits.
- Identify and assess risks related to financial and operational processes and recommend improvements in risk management practices.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, including those related to financial reporting, operations, compliance, and IT systems.
- Ensure that internal control frameworks align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Operational & Financial Audit Management
- Direct financial audits to verify the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial statements.
- Review financial reporting processes, accounting principles, and transactions to ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Provide recommendations to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
- Conduct operational audits to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes across various departments.
- Assess resource utilization, productivity, and operational performance, providing actionable insights for optimization. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and operational standards.
- Manage and mentor audit staff, providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional development. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and ethical conduct within the audit department.
- Leverage technology and data analytics tools to enhance audit processes, increase efficiency, and provide deeper insights into financial and operational performance.
- Stay updated on emerging audit technologies and methodologies to continually improve the audit function.
Reporting and Communication
- Communicate information and potential findings related to the organization financial records and operational processes with key stakeholders, including senior management, and function heads in order to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Present audit findings, recommendations potential impacts on the organization’s operations to the board or relevant committees and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with management to develop action plans to address identified risks, inefficiencies, or compliance gaps.
- Support business process improvements by identifying and recommending best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Work with legal and compliance departments to stay updated on regulatory changes that may impact the organization’s operations or financial reporting.
- Conduct follow-up audits to ensure that corrective actions have been implemented effectively.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports that clearly communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations to senior management.
- Report periodically to the Audit Committee and the Board of s on audit activities, significant findings, and status of management action plans. Maintain open lines of communication with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration across departments.
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, Risk Management or any other related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Internal Audit or any other related field.
