Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting individual to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling and managing the daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and supporting strategic financial planning. you will oversee a team (If applicable), accountants and collaborate with various departments to drive financial performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and develop professional development plans for team members.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and provide analysis of variances.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Coordinate audits and work with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.
- Utilize technology and software tools to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
Strategic Support:
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive business growth and operational excellence.
Academics and certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- SOCPA, CPA or CMA certification preferred.
