Job Description: Electrical Construction Manager to be responsible for the Electrical Construction Works of District Cooling Plants and Central Cooling Plants. His main role will be to coordinate with the different electrical subcontractors, the client representative, and the local authorities to ensure the electrical works are executed on time, within the required budget, and with the required quality. The projects involve the installation of MV panels and cables, transformers, bus bars, MCCs, motors, UPS, DC charger, earthing, lightning, lighting, small power, PLC SCADA, instrumentation.
Responsibilities:
• Working under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the successful candidate should be able to oversee and manage the Industrial EPC Project by closely working with the stakeholders having the following responsibilities:
• Follow in up authority approvals will consultant and authorities
• Advising during design time on authority requirements
• Planning the execution of the Electrical Works
• Coordinating the Electrical Works execution with the Civil and other MEP Works
• Reviewing Material Submittals, method of statements, and shop drawing before submission to the client. Ensuring they are in line with the detailed design, the specifications, and the authority requirements
• Coordinate with client for engineering approvals and inspections
• Control of Quality of the subcontractor
• Ensure the highest standards of safety are followed by the subcontractors
• Track the progress of the electrical activities and expedite electrical contractors
• Follow up with vendors and attend inspections and vendor premises
• Planning, managing, and control all costs associated with the electrical works for the project from outset until completion
• Performing quantity calculations
• Produce AutoCAD schematics, sketches, and drawings (including red mark drawings) for engineering design and reports
• Checking with suppliers and vendors that materials and equipment meet contract specifications and the ordered quantities meet with project estimations and budgets and negotiating costs
• Advising on legal issues and representing contractors in any dispute
Minimum Requirements: The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
• Graduated in Electrical Engineering
• UAE and/or Qatar experience is a must, preferable if still located in any of these 2 countries.
• Age 30-40 years with 7+ years of field experience in construction
• Contractor experience is a must
• District Cooling Experience is recommended
• Previous experience as Electrical Construction Manager in industrial projects that involve Medium Voltage works such as district cooling, substations, paper mills, power plants, aluminium plants, or similar
• Experience reading Architectural, Civil, Mechanical & Electrical drawings
• Languages: fluent in English
• Driving license
• Drawing: proficient in AutoCAD 2D
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
