Job Purpose:
- the Distribution Head is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire distribution process, ensuring the accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of products. This role includes supervising warehousing and delivery operations, optimizing logistics and supply chain processes, and collaborating with suppliers, warehouses, and logistics providers to streamline operations. The Distribution Head also maintains effective relationships with all partners to ensure smooth distribution flows, ensures compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety and environmental regulations, and implements safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategy & Planning:
- Participate in the development of the section’s business plans according to the department objectives. Manage the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes, and practices considering leading standards, productivity improvement, and cost reduction.
Performance Management:
- Ensure that all section reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet Bahri’s requirements, policies, and quality standards.
People & Leadership:
- Achieve the assigned objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, and developing and motivating staff.
Budgeting & financial planning:
- Recommend the budget required from the section and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring unit activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.
Policies & Procedures:
- Ensure the effective implementation of policies, procedures, and controls covering all areas of assigned activities.
Functional Responsibilities :
- Supervise distribution activities and processes to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to client requirements.
- Regularly visit warehouses to evaluate operations and implement improvements.
- Manage escalated risks and issues in the distribution operations.
- Use data and analytics to inform and refine distribution strategies.
- Proactively understand customer requirements and develop solutions to meet their needs.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of products to meet customer expectations.
- Understand project scope, goals, and deliverables, and execute distribution implementation accordingly.
- Leverage technology and automation tools to enhance distribution processes and efficiency.
- Establish and maintain efficient communication channels among all involved parties.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to distribution efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and present performance metrics reports to management for review and decision-making.
- Organize operations to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure safety standards are clearly communicated, understood, and upheld.
- Communicate with employees to address risks, issues, and escalate concerns as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding and cooperation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferred A degree in Supply Chain or related, or Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in distribution/transportation, minimum 2 years in a managerial role
