OVERALL PURPOSE
Responsible for the supporting General Services &Facility Management Strategy development, project management and sustainability management initiatives. In addition, the individual is expected to provide direction and contribute towards environmental regulatory compliance, while maintaining NWC wide environmental and sustainability key performance metrics. A key expectation from this role is to support GS&FM wide initiatives for continuous improvement toward sustainability goals for the GS
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Managerial Responsibilities
Supports development of GS&FM strategy and vision, keeping in mind the overall focus on NWC talent priorities, technology and best practices globally by working with relevant NWC teams
Supports GS&FM leadership on Strategy development to address organization wide goals and objectives; identify improvement opportunities, align identified initiatives, and prepare plan to achieve the desired outcomes
Leads and collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement processes and technologies that support the organization’s sustainability goals and targets
Serves as a sustainability program implementation subject matter expert in assisting GS&FM leadership with sustainability initiatives, and serves as the lead for all customer-level engagements that involve a deeper understanding of sustainability issues and opportunities.
Reports relevant metrics & KPIs related to strategic GS&FM initiatives and projects to the GS&FM CoE Director & GS&FM Leadership
Collates and gathers feedback around ad-hoc GS&FM requests and GS&FM strategic initiatives and projects in coordination with the relevant NWC teams and report it to the GS&FM CoE Director and GS&FM Leadership
Participates in embedding a customer-centric and continuous improvement culture within General Services
Escalates issues related to GS&FM projects and Ad-hoc requests (if any) to Leadership in a timely manner
Monitors and tracks repeated ad-hoc requests and provides insights on how they can be potentially established as a new service(s) in coordination with the relevant GS&FM teams & leadership
Stays up to date with professional developments, new techniques and current issues related to General Services, local and regional vendors in relation to GS&FM services through research, continued education and professional growth
Functional Responsibilities
- Designs an Enterprise GS&FM strategy and vision, keeping in mind the overall focus on NWC talent priorities, technology and best practices globally
- Work closely with the GS&FM CoE & GS&FM Operations to provide strategic direction in line with the GS&FM function’s priorities and vision
- Engages with external stakeholders to consider regulatory and government directives when developing GS&FM strategy
- Engages, supports and collaborates with critical stakeholders in the GS&FM leadership on Project Management activities impacting GS&FM delivered services at the NWC.
- Works closely with the planning and control governance team to review and approve policy exceptions and procedure, bringing the collective input of the GS&FM function and ensuring that the impact of those changes on the GS&FM function are assessed thoroughly
- Identifies and builds business cases for strategic GS&FM initiatives in line with the function’s priorities and vision
- Leads, engages and participates in Strategic Projects that focus on the improvement and elevation of the GS&FM function in line with the function’s priorities and vision
- Manages strategic projects from a GS&FM point of view, monitors progress against deadlines and milestones, develops and publishes project scorecards and ensure timely and comprehensive updates to the GS&FM leadership
- Provides end to end Sustainability monitoring and quality assurance relevant for for the delivery of all GS&FM Services across NWC:
- Ensure that sustainability related KPIs and SLAs across all GS&FM Services are well defined and adhered to
- Monitor the performance of all sustainability related services teams across NWC locations
- Work closely with the NWC level continuous performance improvements team to ensure that sustainability related improvements are aligned with the GS&FM needs and are implemented effectively to improve the GS&FM operations and quality of services delivered
- Works closely with the GS&FM leadership to discuss and develop annual GS&FM business plans that take into consideration the GS&FM function’s priorities and clearly identify strategic goals for the year
- Works with the relevant NWC teams to ensure functional alignment and compliance with GS&FM function governance
- Works closely with the GS&FM Partner(s) Administration CoE to further analyze the findings of outsourced and in-sourced services and develop business cases on the eligibility and benefits of outsourcing/in-sourcing GS&FM services
- Works closely with GS&FM Operations & CoEs to align on the strategic sourcing initiatives for GS&FM Services and agree on the most suitable sourcing strategy based on factual performance data, leading practices and accurate market analysis of available/accessible vendors
- Becomes the first touchpoint for any ad-hoc requests that are not covered within the GS&FM catalogue and coordinate with the different GS&FM teams for delivery & resolution of those requests
