About the Role We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist specialized in precision turning and threading for oil & gas products. You will machine critical components that often receive hardfacing or cladding, ensuring dimensional accuracy and high-quality threads according to oilfield standards.
Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and optimize CNC lathes for turning and precision threading operations Machine oil & gas components (tool joints, couplings, stabilizers, valves, etc.) Machine API, premium, and special threads with high accuracy or similar. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, thread gauges, and measuring instruments. Read and interpret complex technical drawings Create, modify, and optimize NC programs directly on the machine (Mazak / Fanuc, or equivalent) Select and change tools, adjust offsets, and ensure process stability Maintain machines and report any quality or equipment issues Work according to quality procedures and safety standards
Requirements Solid experience as CNC Turning / Lathe Machinist, ideally in oil & gas or precision mechanical components Proven expertise in threading (API, premium connections, or similar) Ability to write and edit NC programs directly on the machine Good knowledge of CNC controls (Mazak, Fanuc / Siemens or equivalent) Ability to work to tight tolerances Experience with measuring instruments for threads and diameters Understanding of materials commonly used in oil & gas (carbon steel, non-magnetic steel, etc..) Fluent in English and able to communicate professionally in both writing and speaking.
