The Role: Senior Project Engineer

ETAP Software is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join its team in Dhahran. This full-time position involves comprehensive project engineering, serving as a technical lead, and overseeing site commissioning activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing site acceptance tests according to client specifications, preparing detailed site reports, and conducting communication point-to-point testing with various electrical equipment using standard communication protocols. Additionally, the role includes testing and demonstrating SCADA, PPC, and MGC applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a Power System Expert in electrical Protection and Control Systems.
• Monitor and distribute site teamwork progress in accordance with customer commissioning schedules.
• Develop, implement, test, and troubleshoot communication systems, leveraging experience in IP networking, UDP/TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalls, gateways, and GPRS/EDGE/3G/4G modems.
• Coordinate and execute Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), provide validation support, conduct customer training, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct and supervise field installation of new or retrofit equipment, and prepare instructional installation documents for clients and project teams.
• Implement and design SCADA Software based on customer specifications.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting of SCADA Software Applications.
• Prepare, coordinate, and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for SCADA/PPC/MGC/SPM systems, ensuring client satisfaction and project compliance.
• Provide on-site customer training for commissioned systems.
• Conduct strategic planning and analysis for both short-term and long-term project commissioning.
• Act as a Site Engineer for meetings and coordination with all equipment suppliers and clients.
• Prepare schedules and reports, ensuring work alignment with the Site Engineer Team.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Instrument, Electronic & Telecommunication, or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of working experience in Renewable Solar SCADA and Oil & Gas sectors.
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in site commissioning.

Essential Technical Skills

• Technical proficiency in multiple communication protocols, including Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP, and IEC 60870-50-104.
• Experience with SCADA and PPC commissioning specifically within the renewable energy field.
• Knowledge of Renewable SCADA Solar Performance Monitoring Systems.
• Familiarity with Weather Monitoring Systems and forecasting systems for both short-term and long-term applications.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and requires active participation in site-based activities. The role involves collaboration with internal teams, equipment suppliers, and clients to ensure successful project execution and compliance with all requirements.
