Product Owner – Fin Tech & Digital Banking - 6-month Extendable Contract Urgent Start / Immediate Start Available Location: based on-site in Riyadh
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to lead the delivery of technology products and transformation initiatives across banking, fintech and financial services.
This is a hands-on product role, working between business stakeholders, technology teams and external partners to turn complex requirements into scalable digital solutions. You will own the product backlog, shape priorities and guide initiatives from initial discovery through development, launch and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will combine strong product-management skills with a good understanding of financial-services technology and customer journeys.
Key Responsibilities Own the end-to-end lifecycle of digital products and technology initiatives across banking and financial services. Define the product vision, roadmap and priorities in partnership with business and technology leadership. Lead discovery workshops to understand customer needs, operational challenges and commercial objectives. Translate business requirements into clear epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery plans. Build, maintain and prioritise the product backlog based on business value, customer impact and technical dependencies. Work closely with engineering, architecture, UX, data, cybersecurity and operations teams. Coordinate delivery across internal teams, technology vendors and third-party partners. Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, product demonstrations and release-readiness activities. Ensure solutions meet relevant security, risk, compliance and regulatory requirements. Use customer feedback, analytics and performance data to drive continuous product improvement. Identify opportunities to improve customer journeys, automate manual processes and increase operational efficiency. Manage senior stakeholders and provide clear updates on progress, priorities, risks and dependencies.
Experience Required Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or Digital Product Lead. Strong experience delivering technology products or transformation projects within banking, fintech, payments or financial services. Experience working with Agile delivery teams and managing product backlogs. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and digital product delivery. Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical and functional deliverables. Experience working with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, architecture, data, security and operations. Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to challenge priorities and influence senior decision-makers. Experience managing technology vendors, integration partners or third-party platforms. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to prioritise initiatives based on value, impact and feasibility.
Relevant Domain Experience Experience in one or more of the following would be beneficial:Digital banking and mobile banking Payments, cards and digital wallets Lending and credit products Customer onboarding, e KYC and identity verification Open banking and API-led services Core banking and enterprise financial platforms Fraud, risk, compliance or regulatory technology Wealth management, insurance or investment platforms Customer portals and financial-services applications Data, AI and process-automation initiatives
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Finance or a related discipline. Product Owner, Scrum or SAFe certification would be advantageous. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure Dev Ops or similar product-delivery platforms.
