We are seeking a highly qualified Chief Accountant with extensive experience in the contracting and construction sector in Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for managing all accounting activities, ensuring compliance with Saudi tax regulations, ZATCA requirements, and IFRS, and providing accurate financial reporting to support business and project decisions. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS Manage construction and project-based accounting, including job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, variations, claims, and retention Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and profitability; analyze cost variances and project margins Ensure accurate accounting for contracts, subcontractors, and supplier payments Ensure full compliance with ZATCA regulations, including VAT (15%), Zakat, Withholding Tax, and other statutory requirements Prepare and submit VAT returns, Zakat filings, and related reconciliations on time Coordinate with project managers to track financial performance of ongoing projects Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and government authorities Prepare budgets, forecasts, and management financial reports Support management with financial analysis, risk assessment, and strategic planning Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff, ensuring compliance with Saudization (Nitaqat) requirements where applicable Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, SOCPA is highly desirable Minimum 10–12 years of accounting experience, with strong experience in construction and contracting companies in KSA In-depth knowledge of Saudi VAT, Zakat, Withholding Tax, and local regulatory requirements Strong understanding of construction contracts, BOQs, cost control, variations, and claims Experience with ERP/accounting systems used in construction environments Experience dealing with audits and ZATCA inspections
