ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and visionary Data Platform Team Lead to own our end-to-end data lifecycle. In this role, you will lead a cross-functional team of data engineers, analysts, and AI developers to build robust data foundations and deploy cutting-edge Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and knowledge systems.
You will bridge the gap between complex urban/enterprise data infrastructure and high-value business insights, ensuring our data is accurate, secure, compliant, and accessible. If you are passionate about the modern cloud-native data stack, semantic AI, and mentoring technical teams, we want to hear from you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Infrastructure, Spatial Engineering & Data Ops • Architect and maintain scalable cloud data warehousing solutions on GCP, including the optimization of spatial queries for urban datasets. • Lead the design of robust ELT/ETL pipelines utilizing modern orchestration and data processing frameworks to integrate diverse, high-volume data sources. • Implement Data Ops best practices, ensuring automated testing, version control, and reliable CI/CD pipelines for all data assets. • Develop efficient data serving layers to ensure low-latency access for downstream APIs and applications.
AI, Ontologies & Advanced Analytics• Spearhead the development of RAG pipelines using modern LLM frameworks, vector databases, and enterprise AI platforms. • Connect LLMs to structured and unstructured enterprise knowledge via ontologies and Knowledge Graphs (Graph RAG). • Drive analytics capabilities that leverage geospatial data to unlock location intelligence and urban insights. • Oversee the delivery of high-impact, self-service dashboards using modern BI tools.
Strategy, Governance & Compliance• Establish and enforce data governance frameworks using cloud-native tools. Ensure strict compliance with data localization laws, privacy frameworks, and the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). • Mentor and grow a team of engineers, manage sprint planning, and foster a culture of engineering excellence. • Partner with product and business leaders to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.
