Role: Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) Location: Riyadh, KSAMy client is a leading restaurant management ecosystem and payment tech provider.
The role Seeking a Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) to join our high-impact infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the mission-critical cloud-native database environments. From relational to NoSQL systems, you will ensure our databases are highly available, secure, scalable, and optimized for performance to support millions of transactions daily.
Your work will directly impact the reliability of the services, helping to deliver seamless experiences to customers while meeting the demands of a rapidly growing global Saa S platform.
What Will You Do● Design, deploy, and maintain highly available cloud-hosted databases (AWS RDS, Aurora, Oracle OCI DB services, Document DB, Redis).● Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.● Proactively monitor database performance, tune queries, and optimize indexing and partitioning strategies.● Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).● Collaborate closely with SRE and Dev Ops teams to embed database reliability into CI/CD pipelines.● Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards (encryption, access control, auditing).● Troubleshoot and resolve complex database incidents, including replication lag, connection bottlenecks, and performance degradation.● Document database architecture, operational runbooks, and best practices for cross-team use.● Evaluate emerging database technologies and propose adoption strategies to enhance scalability and efficiency.
*** We need people that have actually built platforms, at scale and with enterprise level of data/transactions (circa millions of records plus). The ideal candidate will have worked in a high growth scale up. A key project will be dividing there single massive database into multiple smaller databases to facilitate a microservices infrastructure ***
