Job Purpose:
Performs ultrasound examination and assists the radiology in doing special and interventional procedures in ultrasound.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Performs ultrasound examinations including ultrasonography of the abdomen, pelvis, obstetric and breast.
- Submits the images to the radiologist for discussion and reporting.
- Calls the radiologist for consultation during the examination in difficult cases.
- Responsible for correct identification of patients and site of examination.
- Explains the procedure and instructs the patient in assuming physical position for examination.
- Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to the organ to be examined.
- Keys patient information into ultrasound equipment to maintain record of images.
- Records the images on the machine and transfer it to PACS.
- Responsible for recording the details of the patient to the logbook.
- Keeps ultrasound rooms in a neat and orderly appearance at all times.
- Assists radiologist in performing special procedures such as biopsy or drainage.
- Maintains knowledge in all sterile techniques and nursing procedures necessary in the area of ultrasound.
- Responsible for knowing all the hospital rules and necessary procedures and handling an emergency situation.
- Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments and preventative measures if applicable.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.

Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to clearly communicate with patients and their families, physicians and non-medical staff.
Experience
Must be in continuous good ultrasonography practice and should hold at least 2 years post-diploma experience
Education
Appropriate radiographic / technological diploma / Bachelor degree with special training in ultrasonography
Language
Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable
Licenses / Certifications
License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS / DHA)

الغرض من الوظيفة:
إجراء فحوصات الموجات فوق الصوتية ومساعدة طبيب الأشعة في إجراء الإجراءات الخاصة والتداخلية بالموجات فوق الصوتية.
المسؤوليات والواجبات الرئيسية
- إجراء فحوصات الموجات فوق الصوتية بما في ذلك تصوير البطن والحوض والتوليد والثدي.
- تقديم الصور إلى طبيب الأشعة للمناقشة وكتابة التقرير.
- استدعاء طبيب الأشعة للاستشارة أثناء الفحص في الحالات الصعبة.
- المسؤولية عن التحقق الصحيح من هوية المرضى وموقع الفحص.
- شرح الإجراء وإرشاد المريض لاتخاذ الوضعية الجسدية المناسبة للفحص.
- اختيار المحول (transducer) وضبط أدوات التحكم في الجهاز وفقاً للعضو المراد فحصه.
- إدخال معلومات المريض في جهاز الموجات فوق الصوتية للحفاظ على سجل الصور.
- تسجيل الصور على الجهاز ونقلها إلى نظام حفظ وصور الأشعة (PACS).
- المسؤولية عن تسجيل تفاصيل المريض في سجل القيد.
- الحفاظ على غرف الموجات فوق الصوتية بمظهر مرتب ومنظم في جميع الأوقات.
- مساعدة طبيب الأشعة في إجراء الإجراءات الخاصة مثل الخزعة أو السحب.
- الحفاظ على المعرفة بجميع أساليب التعقيم والإجراءات التمريضية اللازمة في مجال الموجات فوق الصوتية.
- المسؤولية عن معرفة جميع قواعد المستشفى والإجراءات اللازمة والتعامل مع حالات الطوارئ.
- تثقيف المرضى وعائلاتهم حول الحالات الصحية والعلاجات والتدابير الوقائية إن أمكن.
- أي مهام أخرى يتم التكليف بها ضمن نطاق المسؤولية ومتطلبات الوظيفة.

- الالتزام بميثاق السلوك المهني والسياسات والمعايير الأخلاقية لـ مجموعة فقيه لرعاية الصحة ودعمها.
- إكمال التعليم الإجباري وفقاً للمتطلبات، قبل شهر واحد على الأقل من تاريخ الانتهاء.
المتطلبات
المهارات والقدرات:
يجب أن يكون قادراً على التواصل بوضوح مع المرضى وعائلاتهم والأطباء والموظفين غير الطبيين.
الخبرة
يجب أن يكون في ممارسة مستمرة وجيدة للتصوير بالموجات فوق الصوتية ويمتلك خبرة لا تقل عن سنتين بعد الحصول على الدبلوم.
المؤهل العلمي
دبلوم / درجة البكالوريوس المناسبة في التصوير الشعاعي / التكنولوجيا مع تدريب خاص في التصوير بالموجات فوق الصوتية.
اللغة
إتقان ممتاز للغة الإنجليزية تحدثاً وكتابةً. يفضل معرفة اللغة العربية.
التراخيص / الشهادات
ترخيص لممارسة المهنة وفقاً للهيئة التنظيمية الصحية الإقليمية مثل (الهيئة السعودية للتخصصات الصحية SCFHS / هيئة الصحة بدبي DHA)
