About the Job
Position: Senior Veterinarian Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Industry: Veterinary / Animal Healthcare Reporting To: Senior Management
Role Overview A well-established, multi-location veterinary clinic group in Riyadh, currently in an active growth phase, is seeking an experienced Senior Veterinarian to provide advanced clinical care and lead the veterinary team at one of its clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care• Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop evidence-based treatment plans• Perform routine, emergency, and orthopedic surgeries, including fracture repair and other musculoskeletal procedures• Interpret laboratory results and diagnostic imaging, including radiographs, to support clinical decision-making• Administer medications, vaccinations, and anesthesia, and monitor patient recovery• Handle complex or high-risk cases and review treatment plans for the wider clinical team
Client & Patient Management• Educate pet owners on treatment options, post-operative care, and disease prevention• Maintain accurate and complete medical records
Team & Compliance• Supervise and mentor associate veterinarians and clinical staff• Ensure compliance with MEWA veterinary licensing and animal health regulations, including controlled substance handling and safety protocols
Requirements:• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent• Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in Saudi Arabia (MEWA registration) or eligibility to obtain one• 5+ years of clinical veterinary experience, with strong surgical and diagnostic skills• Experience mentoring or supervising other veterinarians is a plus• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus
