About the Role

Luxury Collection is seeking a Director of Finance to serve as the strategic financial business leader for the property. This full-time role involves developing and implementing property-wide strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed customer and employee expectations. The Director of Finance provides financial expertise to support brand service strategies and initiatives, while also maximizing return on investment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to improve profit, including cost/benefit analysis and exploring new business opportunities.
• Analyze financial information, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
• Compile, analyze, and monitor actual sales against projected sales, and analyze differences between actual and forecasted wages for efficient budget planning.
• Create the annual operating budget for the property and provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
• Implement appropriate controls to manage business risks and ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment.
• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategy.
• Provide ongoing analytical support by monitoring operating department sales and producing accurate forecasts.
• Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
• Manage property working capital and cash flow in accordance with brand standards and owner requirements.
• Monitor all applicable taxes, ensuring they are current, collected, and/or accrued, and submit reports in a timely manner.
• Reconcile balance sheets and ensure the P&L is accurate and compliant with management contracts and operating procedures.

Leadership and Communication

• Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage sound financial/business decision-making.
• Communicate strategic goals, focus, and owner priorities clearly to subordinates.
• Advise the General Manager and executive committee on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.
• Manage communication with owners effectively and demonstrate an understanding of cash flow and owner priorities.
• Provide leadership by assigning clear accountability to team members and other department managers.

Team Development and Compliance

• Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports and participate in hiring activities as appropriate.
• Ensure team members are cross-trained and receive appropriate new hire training.
• Create development plans for team members based on their strengths, needs, and career aspirations.
• Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and practically to develop and implement new business plans.
• Strong analytical skills to identify underlying principles and facts from data.
• Proficiency in financial data analysis and market trends.
