PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Social Media & Motion Designer will provide end-to-end creative design support for our client's social media and digital channels, working directly with the client's Digital Marketing function on day-to-day briefs and deadlines, with creative outputs reviewed and approved by the client's Brand & Creative function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Short-form video and motion

  • Concept, design, animate, and edit short-form vertical and square video for social feeds, including reels, shorts, and in-feed video, from supplied footage, stills, archive material, and design assets.
  • Produce motion graphics including kinetic typography, animated data and infographics, logo and endframe animation, lower thirds, transitions, and title cards.
  • Edit, grade, and finish video to broadcast-acceptable standard, including audio balancing, licensed music selection, and basic sound design.
  • Produce burned-in and platform-native captions and subtitles in Arabic and English, timed and positioned for legibility on muted autoplay.
  • Reframe a single piece of source material across aspect ratios and durations per platform without loss of composition or legibility.
  • Build and maintain reusable motion templates, project files, and asset libraries for recurring formats.

Social-first design

  • Design social posts, carousels, document posts, infographics, quote cards, greeting and occasion assets, announcement assets, and event assets for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Produce animated GIFs and looping assets optimised for file weight and platform playback.
  • Design channel covers, banners, profile assets, and highlight assets.
  • Design leadership and executive social content supporting the visibility of senior leadership.
  • Adapt a single creative across every platform and both languages, maintaining composition, hierarchy, and brand integrity.
  • Produce dark post and paid media creative to specification where required.

Editorial and long-form design

  • Design long-form articles and thought-leadership content for the client's website, including layout, hero and section imagery, in-article graphics, data visualization, pull quotes, and end matter.
  • Design the social expression of each long-form piece, including promotional assets, carousels, and video cut-downs.
  • Design newsletter and email layouts and supporting social assets.

Craft, governance, and workflow

  • Work within the client's approved brand system and social template library; extend it in coordination with Brand & Creative where a format requires it.
  • Maintain current knowledge of platform specifications and adapt output as they change.
  • Apply rigorous quality assurance before delivery: bilingual spelling and typography, safe areas, aspect ratios, file weight, colour, export settings, caption timing, and mobile playback.
  • Schedule approved content into the client's publishing tool against the approved content calendar.
  • Manage file organisation, version control, working files, source assets, and licensing records; hand over editable files on request.
  • Manage multiple concurrent briefs, reactive requests, and event-day requirements against agreed service levels.
  • Apply AI-enabled creative workflows where they improve speed or quality (versioning, upscaling, background removal, rotoscoping, localisation), subject to human quality control and client approval of tools used.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6 8+ years of experience in social media design, motion design, brand design, or in-house/agency creative roles.
  • Arabic and English bilingual design capability is mandatory, including Arabic typography, right-to-left layout, animated Arabic type, bilingual lock-ups, and Arabic subtitling and captioning in video, designed to the same standard in both languages.
  • Capability to operate independently without guidance from a Creative Director or Art Director, with strong creative judgment, ownership, and accountability from concept through delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, for motion design, video editing, grading, and finishing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and working proficiency in Figma.
  • Demonstrable command of short-form vertical video as a craft, including pacing, hook construction, on-screen text hierarchy, and legibility on muted autoplay.
  • Current, working knowledge of the creative environment and technical specifications of LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Editorial and long-form design capability, including web article layout, information hierarchy, and data visualization.
  • Experience managing a high-volume content calendar with concurrent briefs, reactive requests, and firm publication dates.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Able to work within Riyadh business hours (Sunday Thursday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.) and within a maximum three-hour time-zone difference from Saudi Arabia, with occasional availability outside normal hours.
