Job description

The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organization’s perspective.

To coordinate with various Exploration & Production data owners to collect E&P data and conduct quality assurance & checks before accurately uploading it to the Corporate database ensuring that databases are periodically updated and stay current with activities in PED in compliance to set policies, procedures and standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

This section describes the principal outputs required from the job.

Policies, Processes and Procedures

  • Applies the approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

Day-to-day Operations

  • Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Data Management Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.

Exploration & Production Data

  • Liaises with Geologists, Reservoir engineers, Contractors and other Exploration & Production Data owners from other departments within KJO and ensures timely collection of relevant data.
  • Checks and quality assures the received data and upon approval from the Supervisors ensures timely uploading of the E&P data to the database in accordance to set policy, procedures and standards.

Trouble Shooting

  • Coordinates with contractors, supports and contributes to troubleshooting activities for E&P application related problems for all end users within the Department and ensures timely solution and uninterrupted availability of E&P data with the corporate database.

Training End Users

  • Coordinates or conducts training for E&P application end users facilitating efficient usage of the technology.

E&P Technology

  • Studies E&P principles and establishes technical standards and work flow in the Department. Documents and proposes standard procedures and manuals in line with new E&P technology applications.
  • Collects information, conduct market surveys and industry trend analysis for new E&P technologies.
  • Investigates and develops new E&P technologies and methods. Plans and proposes E&P technology research and development programmes and actual field applications to ensure the department stays abreast to latest technology in the market and all new E&P applications are fulfilled.
  • Participates, monitors and supports contractor work (data loading and implementation of new systems) during the contract execution to ensure compliance with all terms and conditions and reports any discrepancy to the Superintendent.
  • Receives contractor hour’s invoices for various activities based on work orders in line with agreed contracts to be approved by Supervisor.

Reporting

  • Prepares reports on E&P related project progress and achievements on a regular basis in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards.

Budget

  • Assists the Supervisor in annual budget preparation, review and control on expenditures, focusing on all E&P programs in line with division’s operational plans.

Continuous Improvement

  • Recommends and discusses with Supervisor the overall functions of the section including improvement of work methods, preparation of budget and its control, changes in job assignments and improvement of work organization.

Safety, Health & Environment

  • Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Additional Responsibilities

  • The post holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the post.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal

  • Communicates with Section Supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Communicates with end users of E&P applications & systems and when required, regularly communicates with E&P Data Owners.
  • Communicates with IT on a need basis.

External

  • Regular coordination with Contractors, Technology and Third party Service providers.


Skills

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineer.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in coordinating various exploration and production data .

Languages

  • The minimum English language required is L5 – Upper Intermediate.
