About the Role

stc is seeking a Satellite Implementation & Special Projects Section Manager to join its team. This full-time role is central to ensuring the successful deployment and continuous operation of critical satellite services infrastructure and transport networks. The manager will oversee the end-to-end implementation process, from coordination to operational handover, adhering to established business policies and procedures.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the implementation and integration of satellite services infrastructure and associated transport networks. This includes ensuring reliable, secure, and timely service delivery by coordinating project execution, testing, acceptance, vendor management, and seamless operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute the end-to-end implementation of satellite services infrastructure, encompassing GEO/MEO/LEO platforms, gateways, VSAT hubs, and ground segment equipment.
• Lead the deployment and integration of satellite communication systems with IP/MPLS transport networks, optical backbones, and core network infrastructure.
• Manage implementation vendors, contractors, and system integrators to ensure adherence to project scope, quality standards, and timelines.
• Coordinate site readiness activities, including power, space, transmission, civil works, and infrastructure dependencies, to facilitate timely project execution.
• Ensure successful installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of satellite and special project infrastructure according to approved design specifications.
• Conduct comprehensive service validation, interoperability, and performance testing prior to service activation.
• Oversee migration, cutover, and service transition activities, aiming to minimize customer impact and maintain service continuity.
• Ensure all implementation activities comply with security, regulatory, and operational standards throughout project execution.
• Coordinate with SEA, security, and business stakeholders to resolve implementation dependencies and accelerate project delivery.
• Monitor implementation KPIs, project milestones, resources, and vendor performance to ensure successful project delivery.
• Lead acceptance testing (PAT) and final customer acceptance for satellite and special projects.
• Ensure operational readiness through complete documentation, knowledge transfer, training, and support handover to Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Drive the implementation of resilience, redundancy, and high-availability features across GEO/MEO/LEO satellite infrastructure to enhance network reliability.
• Ensure all implementation activities comply with approved Method of Procedures (MoPs), change management processes, and operational governance requirements.
• Provide effective project reporting and performance visibility through timely and accurate reporting of project status, progress, and key metrics to all stakeholders.
• Develop and automate engineering workflows to support the planning, design, and delivery of integrated Statements of Work (SoWs) for satellite infrastructure and MPLS and DWDM transport networks, ensuring effective coordination of all physical and logical dependencies.
• Deliver Integrated SoWs related to MPLS and DWDM projects to Infrastructure Implementation, including required End-to-End ISP & OSP dependencies and maintaining physical diversity requirements for Transport services.
• Resolve blocking issues that impact PAT Acceptance for Transport SoWs.
• Design and implement Dashboard reports to track and control Core & Transport Projects, covering aspects such as project status, actions, missed SLA, and RN Revision.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 6 years of relevant experience in satellite implementation, special projects, or related telecommunications infrastructure management.

Technical Domain Expertise

The role requires a strong understanding and practical experience in several key technical areas, including:

• GEO/MEO/LEO satellite platforms, gateways, VSAT hubs, and ground segment equipment.
• Integration of satellite communication systems with IP/MPLS transport networks, optical backbones, and core network infrastructure.
• MPLS and DWDM transport networks, including physical and logical dependencies.
• Project management methodologies, vendor management, and operational governance.
