1. Job Description

We are looking for a general accountant with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the restaurant and cafe sector in particular, to join the financial operations team and manage daily accounts for several branches.

This position is not traditional general accounting. We need someone who understands how restaurants operate: item cost, waste percentage, delivery app commissions, and daily inventory variances.

Key responsibilities:

Prepare daily entries and monthly closings and issue financial statements

Calculate item costs and monitor the cost of goods sold ratio to sales for each branch

Track periodic stock and analyze inventory differences and waste and determine their causes

Reconcile POS sales with cash collection and network and delivery apps

Review delivery app commissions and ensure they comply with agreements

Monitor supplier accounts and prepare the payments schedule

Prepare monthly profitability reports for each branch and for each product group

Participate in preparing the budget and monitor variances

Prepare payroll sheets and monitor employee entitlements

Coordinate with branch managers to control consumption and procurement

Bachelor’s degree in commerce – accounting or equivalent

At least 10 years of accounting experience, including a minimum of 3 years in the restaurant, cafe, or hospitality sector (essential)

Hands-on experience in cost accounting and item cost calculation and waste control

Familiarity with POS systems and reconciling their reports with accounts

Experience dealing with delivery apps and reviewing their commissions

Advanced Excel proficiency (formulas, pivot tables, linking files)

Hands-on experience in at least one ERP system

Ability to prepare analytical reports and interpret cost variances, not just present numbers

High accuracy and ability to work under monthly closing pressure

Proficiency in English at a level enabling reading reports and correspondence

Preferred qualifications:

Previous experience in a multi-branch restaurant chain

Professional certification in accounting or managerial accounting

Experience in setting up a chart of accounts and cost centers for new branches
