ResponsibilitiesOur newest opportunity is for a Project Controls Manager. This critical role will lead and coordinate the planning, cost management, risk management, and reporting functions for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh. This role ensures that the project remains on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations. The position requires strong technical expertise, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary controls teams in a fast-paced mega-project environment.
- Planning & Scheduling
- Developing, maintaining, and updating the Integrated Master Schedule in Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with approved baselines, contract milestones, and project delivery objectives.
- Reviewing and critically assessing Contractor detailed programmes, recovery plans, and look-ahead schedules on a regular basis.
- Performing critical path analysis, float analysis, and “what-if” scenario modelling to support strategic project decision-making.
- Monitoring progress against planned activities using earned value management principles and schedule performance indicators.
- Supporting the Project Director and project leadership team with schedule forecasting, mitigation planning, and programme optimization strategies.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting- Preparing accurate weekly and monthly progress reports, including S-curves, histograms, dashboards, KPI tracking, and narrative analysis for Client and senior management reporting.
- Monitoring trade-by-trade progress, productivity performance, critical activities, and milestone achievement.
- Identifying early warnings, delays, risks, and performance concerns while developing mitigation measures and recovery recommendations.
- Maintaining live project dashboards and reporting tools to track schedule performance, manpower trends, resource utilization, and critical project metrics.
- Participating in executive reporting, technical workshops, and project review meetings.
Change, Risk & Commercial Support- Assessing the impact of variations, delays, disruptions, and scope changes on project schedules and contractual milestones.
- Supporting the preparation and review of Extension of Time (EOT) claims, delay analyses, and associated schedule narratives.
- Integrating risk management activities into the project schedule, including mitigation tracking, contingency planning, and schedule recovery initiatives.
- Coordinating with commercial and contracts teams to ensure alignment between programme reporting, cost reporting, and contractual obligations.
- Supporting value engineering exercises and interface coordination activities across multiple project packages.
Document Control & Systems Management- Ensuring all planning and controls deliverables are properly submitted, tracked, approved, and archived through Aconex and other project systems.
- Maintaining accurate records of schedule baselines, revisions, approvals, and reporting documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with project controls procedures, reporting standards, and Client requirements.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination- Leading and mentoring planning and project controls teams including planners, schedulers, reporting engineers, and data analysts.
- Coordinating closely with project management, construction, engineering, commercial, and Client teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Attending and contributing to key project meetings including progress meetings, technical coordination workshops, risk reviews, and executive reporting sessions.
- Supporting the development of project controls best practices, reporting systems, and continuous improvement initiatives across the project.
QualificationsTo be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 12 years work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent 5 years of your career will have been focused purely on Project Controls in infrastructre projects.
Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, EVM, schedule risk analysis, and cost control methodologies.
Prior experience working for a global consultancy or Tier-1 contractor.
Experience in large-scale infrastructure (e.g., highways, rail/metro, utilities, aviation, or mixed-use developments).
Strong understanding of project delivery models and contract structures (e.g., EPC, Design & Build, PMC).
