Oil & Gas Division is seeking a Piping Engineer to be based at our office in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
This position covers piping engineering, providing support across multiple projects and ensuring consistency, quality, and technical excellence throughout the project portfolio. The role requires a senior professional with strong expertise in piping design, plant layout, and stress analysis within Oil & Gas, or energy, capable of leading engineering teams if required, interfacing with Clients, and safeguarding the technical integrity of the works.
Purpose of the role and main responsibilities:
Define engineering criteria, design philosophies, and technical approaches for piping systems and plant layout. Execute and review key piping deliverables during Concept, FEED, and Basic Design phases. Execute, review and validate Detailed Design deliverables for large-scale EPC projects. Execute and oversee the development and review of piping layouts, routing studies, piping material specifications, and piping design calculations. Perform and review piping stress analysis and support the resolution of flexibility, support, and load-related design issues. Lead the preparation and review of plot plans, equipment layouts, piping general arrangements, isometrics, MTOs, and support design inputs. Guide piping material selection and ensure compliance with process, mechanical, and operational requirements. Support project teams in resolving complex technical issues and managing piping-related design deviations. Act as the primary piping technical interface with Clients, licensors, vendors, and regulatory authorities, if required. Participate in technical reviews, model reviews, workshops, and high-level technical presentations. Support Project Management in technical risk assessment and decision-making processes. If required, act as the piping engineering discipline lead across assigned projects. Main requirements for the role:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant engineering discipline. Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Oil & Gas, hydrocarbons, power, or infrastructure projects Proven experience in piping design, plant layout, and piping engineering deliverables for industrial facilities Strong experience in piping stress analysis, including flexibility assessment, support philosophy, and nozzle load evaluation Previous experience on engineering consultancy. Desirable experience with large EPC projects. Advanced knowledge of piping design principles, routing practices, material selection, and support design Strong command of international standards: ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, MSS, ANSIExperience with piping engineering and stress analysis tools (CAESAR II, Auto CAD Plant 3D, SP3D, PDMS, E3D, or equivalent) Familiarity with Saudi Arabian standards, including SAES and local regulatory requirements, is an advantage Strong networking skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all project levels Availability for short business trips within the GCCFluency in English is mandatory.
