Roles & Responsibilities
Overview
The Quality Director will lead and implement a robust quality management framework across all project phases, ensuring delivery meets the highest international standards. The role safeguards excellence and consistency in a prestigious, luxury hospitality and residential development.
Quality Strategy & Governance
- Develop and implement a project-wide Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with hospitality brand standards (e.g., Hilton, Marriott, Accor, etc.).
- Define quality objectives, KPIs, and benchmarks for all project phases.
- Ensure compliance with international hospitality standards, local regulations, and safety codes.
Design & Pre-Construction Quality
- Review architectural, MEP, and interior design plans to ensure:
- Alignment with brand guidelines.
- Functional guest experience design.
- Maintainability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with design consultants and operators to embed quality standards early.
Construction Quality Management
- Establish QA/QC processes for contractors and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure:
- Workmanship standards.
- Material quality compliance.
- Adherence to approved specifications.
- Lead snagging, de-snagging, and defect resolution processes.
Brand Standards & Guest Experience
- Ensure all facilities (rooms, F&B outlets, spa, public areas) meet brand and luxury standards.
- Translate project quality into operational guest experience excellence.
- Work closely with hotel operators during pre-opening readiness.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Evaluate and approve vendors based on quality compliance.
- Monitor supplier performance and enforce quality accountability.
- Drive continuous improvement across contractors and suppliers.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee testing and commissioning (T&C) of all systems (HVAC, fire safety, elevators, etc.).
- Ensure smooth project handover to operations team with zero critical defects.
- Validate readiness for soft opening and official launch.
Audit & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct internal and external quality audits.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Capture lessons learned and integrate into future projects.
Team Leadership
- Lead a team of QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and specialists.
- Provide training on quality standards and hospitality excellence.
- Foster a quality-driven culture across project stakeholders.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Hospitality.
- Master s degree or certifications (preferred):
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management).
- Six Sigma / Lean.
- PMP (Project Management).
Experience
- 18+ years of experience in construction and/or hospitality projects.
- Minimum 5 7 years in a lead quality role.
- Strong experience in:
- Luxury hotels, resorts, or mixed-use hospitality developments.
- Working with international hotel brands.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep knowledge of hospitality standards and guest experience.
- Strong understanding of construction quality control processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management (owners, consultants, operators).
- High attention to detail with a customer-first mindset.
- Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
