Job DescriptionOverview
The Power Systems Expert is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, performance, and reliability of all metro power systems during the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) phase. This includes high, medium, and traction power systems such as substations, cables, transformers, and protection equipment. The role ensures that all maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual obligations and Employer expectations. The Power Systems Expert also plays a key role in monitoring O&M Contractor performance, reviewing technical submissions, coordinating with Design & Build (DB) Contractors, and advising on long-term asset management strategies.
Your role
- Oversee maintenance activities of all power systems including high, medium, and traction substations
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of transformers, cables, and protection systems
- Verify that all O&M activities meet safety standards and Employer expectations
- Monitor and evaluate O&M Contractors’ performance and service delivery
- Assess contractor performance and implement adjustments where required
- Oversee mobilization of O&M Contractors and sub-contractors
- Review contractor submissions including asset management plans, maintenance plans, procedures, and instructions
- Ensure compliance of contractor deliverables with contractual requirements
- Coordinate effectively between O&M Contractors and Design & Build (DB) Contractors
- Support integration and alignment of power systems with overall metro operations
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on power systems engineering
- Advise on asset management strategies, lifecycle planning, and system optimization
- Conduct inspections, audits, and performance reviews of power systems
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of technical and managerial experience in power systems
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems including substations, transformers, and protection systems
- Experience in maintenance and operation of railway or metro power infrastructure
- Ability to review technical documentation and maintenance strategies
- Experience in contractor performance management and evaluation
- Good understanding of safety standards and electrical regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management abilities
- Good communication and reporting skills
