Job Details

Mechanical inspector supporting hospitality projects

Supporting hospitality projects including hotels, stadiums, museums, and hospitals across the Middle East, ensuring compliance with mechanical design and installation standards.

Conduct site inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems to verify quality, safety, and adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and regulations. Coordinate with contractors and project teams to resolve technical issues, monitor progress, and ensure timely and compliant system installation and commissioning.

Monitor activities to assure that the work is performed as required by the contract and meets or exceeds the required quality standards.

Conduct regular surveillance of site work against documented processes.

Review work pack documentation and validate test data as meeting specified requirements and/or within tolerance.

Ensure incorporated materials on projects comply with plans and specifications.

Attend as the company nominated representative for discipline witness and monitor intervention points on site construction inspection and test plans (ITPs).

Produce formal reports of inspections carried out on site.

Monitor contractor work and provide data, reports, and inputs to management as required.

Liaise with company and contractor quality personnel to ensure requirements for client representation at hold, witness, and test points are understood.

Provide quality representation at toolbox talks and promote a right first time approach.

Stay informed of relevant quality, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies, manuals, and procedures and ensure continued compliance while employed.

Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience on large-scale projects; supervision consultant or main contractor experience is essential.
  • Computer literate, with ability to use email, Excel, and Word to compile, produce, monitor, and interpret operational data and reports.
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise effectively, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks ensuring timely completion.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to operational requirements to meet business objectives.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Experience working internationally, preferably in the GCC region.
