Responsibilities:
The Project Risk Engineer is a core practitioner within the project risk management team, responsible for the hands-on implementation of risk management processes for assigned project areas. This role operates with a degree of autonomy to conduct comprehensive risk assessments, perform both qualitative and quantitative analyses, and maintain the integrity of the risk database. The Project Risk Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional project teams to identify, analyse, and report on potential risks and opportunities, playing a crucial role in integrating risk management practices into project planning and execution.

Functional
- Independently manage and maintain the risk database and risk registers for assigned project scopes, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and analyse potential threats and opportunities related to technical, commercial, and execution aspects of the project.
- Perform and support the facilitation of risk identification and review workshops with project teams and discipline engineers.
- Undertake quantitative risk analysis for cost and schedule (QCRA/QSRA), utilizing Monte Carlo simulation and other statistical techniques to model uncertainty and its potential impact on project outcomes.
- Analyse complex data sets and prepare detailed technical reports that clearly articulate risk findings, potential impacts, and recommendations for mitigation.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and procurement teams to develop effective risk mitigation and contingency plans.
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of agreed-upon risk responses, providing regular status updates.
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in project risk management.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in performing both qualitative and quantitative risk assessments on construction or industrial projects.
- Proficiency with industry-standard risk analysis software such as Safran Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, or @Risk.
- A strong understanding of project controls principles, particularly cost estimating and scheduling.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong technical report writing and presentation skills.
Experience Requirements
- Overall Project Risk Management Experience: 3-5 years of direct experience in project risk management.
- Large-Scale Project Experience (>SAR 1 billion): A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working on a large-scale construction or infrastructure project.
- Main Contractor Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working for a main contractor in an EPC or EPCM environment is preferred.
Preferred
- An industry-recognized risk management qualification, such as PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), or an equivalent certification.
- Experience in schedule risk analysis.
- Knowledge of standard contract forms such as FIDIC or NEC.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary project team environment.
