Role Overview
The Outsourcing Engineer plays a key role within the Procurement function by managing the sourcing, evaluation, and outsourcing of materials required for business operations and specialized projects. This role ensures that materials sourced from external suppliers meet the company’s standards for quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery. The Outsourcing Engineer collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and the broader procurement team to optimize material supply and achieve strategic procurement objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for new sourcing projects Coordinate with Engineering for any new requirement or supplier. Coordinate with Sales for any new requirement or supplier. Coordinate with procurement team to make sure materials to be ordered are correct. Review PO’s and make necessary correction if required. Review all purchased parts and advise any necessary recommendation related to supplier or the product itself. Review all non-standard items and recommend the related product or supplier. Full coordination with procurement team. Make the cost analyses sheet for any new product and comparison with current product. Get samples and follow up samples approval with QC. Review all BOM change requested by Engineering and do necessary action. Responsible for outsourcing activities and programs. Review the manufacturing process and recommend the best product to reduce the cost. Responsible for cost reduction of produced units. Any other assignment by the management.
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Procurement or any related field from an accredited university. Knowledge in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Skills & Experience
Experience in split and central A/C Control system. Experience in HVAC systems refrigeration fittings and electrical parts Deal with AHRI, SASO, JSMO and UL standards testing and certification Experience in most common types of A/C compressors (Screw, scroll, rotary and reciprocating types) Experience in most common types of AC and EC motors Experience in using systems and parts design selection software
