Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical /Mechatronics/ HVAC engineering.3-5 Years of experience in HVAC testing standards and psychrometric laboratory. Education & Qualifications • Knowledge of HVAC Testing standards (AHRI, ISO, ASHRAE, SASO, ESMA, MEW, QS, …etc.)• Understanding of ISO 17025 laboratory quality systems.• Experience with data acquisition systems (DAQ) and instrumentation.• Basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.• Ability to analyze measurement uncertainty and test data.
Job Purpose:• The HVAC Lab engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising HVAC products performance testing within the laboratory in accordance with international standards (lab accreditation scope) such as (AHRI, ISO, ASHRAE and SASO) • The role ensures accurate measurement according to laboratory procedures and laboratory Quality Management System, compliance with ISO 17 / 25 requirement, and support in certification and quality verification• To operate HVAC laboratory facilities and test equipment in order to conduct performance test of HVAC Unit in case of absence of lab operator.
Primary Job Functions
(Functional Accountabilities)
• Testing & Laboratory Operations: a- Plan and conduct HVAC performance tests including cooling capacity, Heating capacity, COP/EER, airflow, pressure drop and sound measurements, etc.b- Ensure tests are conducted according to relevant standards (e.g. AHRI, ISO, ASHRAE, SASO…)c- Supervise HVAC test setups including psychrometric rooms and reverberation room.d- Review test procedures and verify test conditions before execution.e- Analyze and validate test data to ensure accuracy and repeatability.• ISO 17025 Compliance:a- Ensure laboratory operation comply with ISO 17025 requirements.b- Develop and maintain test methods, SOPs, and work instructions.c- Prepare technical records, Test reports, and calibration traceability documentation.d- Participate in internal Audits, Proficiency testing, and inter-Laboratory comparisons.e- Support Laboratory accreditation and witness testing activities.• Laboratory Equipment & Calibration:a- Manage calibration schedules for laboratory instruments and measurement devices.b- Verify accuracy and uncertainty of measurement systems.c- Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation such as sensors, data acquisition, and control systems.d- Coordinate with calibration provides to maintain traceability to international standards.• Laboratory Development & improvement: a- Participate in lab commissioning, upgrades, and development of new test facilities.b- Contribute to uncertainty budgets and measurement system analysis.c- Improve laboratory testing methods and automation systems.d- Ensure safe operation of laboratory systems including high-capacity HVAC equipment.• Team Coordinationa- Supervise laboratory technicians and operators during testing activities.b- Coordinate with test requestor and Quality for testing requirements.c- Provide technical training to laboratory staff
• Laboratory safety:a- Follow laboratory safety procedure and PPE requirement.b- Reporting safety incidents and violations.
